snap on fenders for road bikes?
I'm looking to get some snap on fenders for my road bike (700c tires) and it seems everywhere I look the reviews are split and not much help.
trying to stay under the $20 mark and have been looking at these
planet bike clip on fenders for hybrid and road bikes - https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/60114...448_pmd_amazon
and these
Avenir clip on fenders - https://www.amazon.com/Avenir-Clip-On...pr_product_top
the biggest issue with fender reviews seems to be that they don't fit right. or don't mount right so I am attaching pictures of the bike rear for help.
the bike is a Sekai (got it second hand and the model information is worn off of the paint)
if anyone has any leads on a better option or knows if these options would work on my bike I'd love to hear about it!
thanks!
also- please let me know if I posted this in the wrong forum. I didn't see one that was specific to bike accessories and figured road bike would be a good place to ask question about my road bikes accessory needs! thanks again!

I have a pair of those planet bike fenders, but they are on a hybridized MTB, not my road bike. They are better spray protection than nothing and were cheap. The rear clips onto the seatstay bridge and around the seat tube. The front has one attachment point to an L shaped bracket you need to install to the brake bolt. Both fenders have a large unsupported area, but seem to stay in place fairly well. On my 26" MTB, there is a very large gap between the tire and fender, but then, it's a bastardized MTB with smaller tires than it originally came with. I don't keep them on all the time. Since they go on so easily, I just use them when I think I'll want them.
I can test fit them to one of my road bikes, but I'm not sure if they are wheel size specific or not.

I have both, oddly--but they're in the garage, replaced by some SKS chromoplastics. They go on and off easily (PBs easier than the Avenirs) qnd theyre secure, but they don't extend far enough to provide much coverage. I finally decided if I was going to use fenders, I'd get good ones and leave them on except in summer, when it never rains here.

Take it to a shop and get their opinion. If you're happy with the current tires you *might* be able to cram some 35mm fenders in there and attach them with p-clamps, zip ties, etc...
Pretty curious about these Toba Frank fenders. At 30mm they're narrower than most (good for fitting under short reach brakes) and cheap, but the single stay for the front is a little disappointing. I hate fender rattle.
I also generally hate "strap on" fenders. The PDW Full Metal fenders are nice for tight road bike clearances, but spendy.
If you must do the strap on thing Crud Road Racers (and apply electrical tape to your bike where they attach).

SKS Raceblade Long fenders should fit most race bikes. Clip on and off easily for flat repair, etc. Really good coverage. My wife has a set on her Serotta and they work well.

But forget your $20 budget; they're about $60 and well worth it. They snap on or off in about ten seconds.
