Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anybody having trouble with PBK?

I went ahead and ordered on 2/1/13 when those Ambrosio conversion cassettes came out. Wow, free shipping, so I plunked down $130 for some other stuff, too. Nothing has arrived, period. When I go to the Contact Us screen, and put in my "enquiry," nothing, no response, other than "we received your enquiry."

However, during the first two weeks after my order, some other stuff came up on sale, so I plunked down $106 for some other items and sent it on 2/15/13. It arrived about 3/20/13, in a torn plastic mailing bag. No packing whatsoever, just items tossed into a bag, sealed, and shipped. At least it arrived undamaged, and that's the objective.

The site says the order shipped, but there is no tracking, no other accountability. Any others?

They had an acknowledged problem with their servers during this time, and it resulted in a huge backlog of inquiries. Check their site and/or facebook page to see if this is still the case. If you don't see anything indicating that you shouldn't inquire again, go ahead and inquire again. I would still give them an opportunity to reply to you before taking any action like reversing the CC charge (but if they do respond with a shrug, I'd stop payment).

If you dont pay for the good shipping there is no way to track your box, I bet is stuck in customs or something.

I ordered some tires on 3/5, and am still waiting for them. Other people ordered around the same time and got them this week. I'm going to contact them next week if they dont come.

I did an order a couple of months ago. I didn't realize that the free shipping was regular post (my bad), after two weeks I did contact them and to be fair they responded within a few hours letting me know that it can get hung up in US customs and that only after 28 days from shipping date could they investigate. In the end I did receive the package (well taken care of) in about 20 days.

If they did not respond to your first inquiry and it's been longer than 28 days I would definitely reach out to them again. Hopefully they will respond quicker this time around.

Yes. I posted it on the GP4000 thread.

Anyhow to summarize, I made two orders in March.

1st order - 1 item was missing (told them, now the item is OOS, I told them to send me a diff colour instead of waiting forever)
2nd order - 2 items were missing (dinged with duties, found out I didn't have the items, they refunded me but magically arrived days later)

Both shipments arrived within 10 business days

*had a "third order" that was from Feb. It was an exchange it this one took the longest to arrive.

Now it's been a pain in the rear dealing with them really. As someone who's orders at least 8x the past 12 months I think I would've at least deserved some coupon code that I can use for myself but nada...despite all this I'll be returning the money they refunded me because I'm an honest person. /shrug

I purchase about 4-6 times per year and never had a problem other than slow shipping. It appears to be customs slowing things down, since they shipped a day after the order. I'll only order items from PBK when I'm not in any hurry.

+1. PBK, Ribble, Wiggle and others.... Coming from the UK to the US, things seem to get hung up at the US port of entry for indeterminate periods of time, sometimes days, sometimes weeks. Mostly it's 10-15 days, but the longest it took was nearly 5 weeks for a pair of shoes.

UPDATE:

After a second inquiry, they issued a full refund, no questions asked. I did not have to go through PayPal or anything. I have no idea what the reason was, but 2 months is a little long. I used PayPal, so I was protected in almost any event.

The order I placed on 2/15 made it on 3/19, so I wanted to wait at least 6 weeks. It was the free shipping option, as well.

If it ever does make it, I'll re-pay them, as I needed the parts.

I, too, have always had pretty good service from them. I've bought quite a bit from ribble and PBK, and never had an issue with something not making it. I did order a seatpost from Holland about the same time, and it never made it either, so I'm giving Europe a breather and going SE Asia for a while.
