Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oh, one more thing:
11. I live in the city with the best cycling weather in the country- recently LA was determined to have the highest number of days with sunshine and temps between 50 & 80 deg of all locations in the US, followed by San Diego and Oxnard, CA

No doubt, but would you really want to live a in place called Oxnard? Gives me the "willies".

I love little baby ducks,
old pick-up trucks,
slow movin trains, and rain.

I love little country streams,
sleep without dreams,
Sunday school in May, and hay.

And I love you too.

I love leaves in the wind,
pictures of my friends,
birds of the world, and squirrels.

I love coffee in a cup,
little fuzzy pups,
old TV shows, and snow.

And I love you too.

I love honest open smiles,
kisses from a child,
tomatoes on a vine, and onions.

I love winners when they cry,
losers when they try,
music when its good, and life.

And I love you too.

Shhh... You're not supposed to be negative in this thread!

Good things about Oxnard:
1. Strawberry capital of the world, I think. Cheap, abundant strawberries
2. Good inexpensive sailboat harbor that is an excellent jumping off point for Channel Islands National Park
3. Um... Uh.... Hmm, that's all I've got

Is a dearth of positive things to say the same as saying something negative? Oops, there I go again.

I was going to say that this place sucks.

But I'll keep it positive.

This place positively sucks.

I got another one! They have an Amtrak station. Ok, Amtrak isn't that great, but it's all I could think of.

I can't stand sitting here waiting for this century, I'm gong out to ride a few miles.

I understand that is less serious than the sin of emission. Ah, the difference one letter makes.

That squeek that I had, was not the bottom bracket, it was my front wheel Quick release that was loose. Or the seat post clamp was loose. Now that i tightened it the squeek went away. All that is out there for eternity is that BB30 sucks, this frame sucks , stay away from this. Never as I said, My right cleat was loose on my shoe. that is where the squeek was coming from. Everybody check your shoes, this might be your problem too.

Please as a community post your FIXES! This will help your fellow cyclists with anything that they to might encounter.

Please post your likes also. Not just stuff that breaks. Post about stuff you love and can't live without. Post about stuff that looks good, and performs well.

Don't tell me about flats, and don't buy this tire, when it clearly states "race " on the box, and that all of your roads are cinder, and I flat all of the time.
I train on $150 tubulars and I get only 100 miles out of them. Does that not sound dumb? I weigh 900lbs and ride 1100 gram rims with a 12.2 lb bike that i paid $18,000.00 for and it feels like a noodle! MORONIC!

Information is what I need when i log in. I want to read of others experiences, of new stuff that is out. Breaks and FIXES!! if I see one more , this handlebar tape sucks, it keeps breaking when i put 100lbs of pressure on it to wrap it around my handlebars I might go out and shoot something!

And please if you have never road a bike in your life, don't post. If you have never raced, don't post about racing. If you don't own or have tried the product , please please don't comment on it. (my friend had that, he said that it was trash).

Now that this is out of my system, I think I will get a bag of chips, an ice cream sandwich, a soda, turn on the tv and relax, because in two days. I get back on the wagon. there are too many youngsters that need to be schooled next season.
Sweet, thanks! With your direction, I'm sure that the greater 41, the internet and human nature will all change for the brighter, cheerier, and more positive.

Oxnard has great riding, long roads, you can ride due flat or mountain rides to Ventura, Ojai (pronounced Oh-high), Santa Barbara or Malibu.

Oh and Ojai has the "pink moment"....

My doctor prescribed it to me as a kid. I used to ditch it under the table when mom and day weren't looking. I think I still need it.

Cheers!

You've never been in the Cult of the CAAD thread? It's 300+ pages of people expressing their positive feelings for CAADs and how they're ditching their other bikes (often CF) for a CAAD.
