It was agreed upon by the Administration that the Addiction thread and RTT thread would be allowed as sole exceptions to the policy of "Cycling Only" topics in the regular forums. As you know, we try not to be dicks about some things, and along the way the "Watches" thread and the "Racing Car" threads slid in quietly under the radar. No big deal, we can be reasonable.

But this "Hiking" thread wa likely to lead to an avalanche of hobby threads because the idea was actually hatched in Machka's "Hobbies" thread. Doesn't take much imagination to realize that, does it? Yet this is not what the administration has in mind. They are insistent that the Addiction thread and the RTT thread remain the SOLE off-topic threads in their respective forums.

But don't take my word for it, feel free to ask Tom. In private. The rest of the forums could care less and resent the interruption.

I don't know. I check into this thread occasionally and get really confused. It doesn't seem there is any congruence, it's totally random. Barely more than 2 posts consecutively about the same topic. But just leave it, people who post here really like it.

In this thread, I think it's more appropriate to post what you ate for breakfast, how many times you had bowel movements or which person you hate at your workplace than to post anything related to a bike.

that is exactly my question, why now and why here! I and others, are or were, as I have been told to stop asking by the mods, why some threads are moved and others are not, when all the threads in question are off topic for their specific forums.

Saddle bag covers most of the post. Seat stay light is easier. I only need it on overcast days or if I'm out at dusk.
