(My wife always hollers "have fun shtorming da castle!) when I go for a group ride)
I'm 6'2 and 230 and there are guys pudgier than me who easily run the "A" group. Having said that, hills are painful, but I am surprised how many guys my size do well in tris. Not winning, but not embarrassing themselves.

Haha. On the flip side, my wife is the one who helps me keep my weight in check, and otherwise I'd probably weigh 20 lbs. more. I've been fairly consistent since college, usually 170 +/- a couple no matter how much I work out. It's either fat-weight or muscle-weight, but my weight itself tends to not fluctuate.

The "fat" side view is the day I started working out Aug 2011 - 209 pounds, 45% bodyfat, etc. The second side view is me in same t-shirt 8 weeks later. The one with the red pullover and capris was taken in February, a month before my operation. I've dropped about 15 pounds since then - some due to getting sick, some from working out and cycling.

6'2" 160 pounds, 64. My wife says I look like I just escaped from a concentration camp. My mother and my daughter say I'm too skinny. I'm down from 225 about 10 years ago. The weight varies from about 158 to 165 depending on seasons and holidays. I get the "stick man", "blow away in the wind", and "skinny old fart" comments at work, but I've grown accustomed to it, and given my unhealthy history, rather proud of it. Annual blood work came in really good, so I'm a happy camper.

6'3"+, 167 lbs., 50 years old. I'm probably down 20 lbs. from my heaviest (I've never been big) five years ago. I recently ran into a Dr. acquaintance I hadn't seen in a couple of years, and he asked if I was well. Wasn't quite sure how to take that. . .

Can you be too skinny for cycling? Contador, Wiggins, Froume and others look like they are starving to me. Post Lance/Doping, power/weight ratio is emphasized a lot more I think.

when I was 160 a month ago I remarked that I wanted to shed some pounds and was told I was already too thin
I'd like to settle at 150, probably a little less if I get into competitive cycling

Gosh you fatties need to lose some weight! And you call yourself cyclists? Just kidding of course. Wow there are some stringbeans on here. I feel like this thread should be on one of those Pro-ana websites. Yeah I used to get lots of comments about how "terrible" I look and concerned inquiries about my health but I think people that know me have now mostly gotten used to it. Even my mom has eased up on the comments. I tried to tell them that once I started cycling and made some slight diet changes the pounds started melting away with very little effort. People have a hard time believing that though. Real food, fewer calories, and exercise equals weight loss. No one wants to hear that! If you really want to kick it up a notch throw in some core exercises once or twice a week and you'll lose an additional waist size or two. 43 years old, 5'9" and 138 lbs. (172 pre-cycling).

I'm 5'10" and weigh 150lb and apparently, friends and family think that's skinny. I think it's pretty average though I'd like to lose some fat from the thighs and buttocks. My jersey is small but my bibs are medium. I'd like to be able to slim down enough to fit into small bibs. Something about one being small and the other being medium annoys me. It's just inconsistent...

A serious answer to your question: When you're at the doctor sometime, ask about your weight. Doctor says you're fine or you're ideal or whatever they say about people that match their height-weight chart. Then you tell anyone that says you're too skinny, "My doctor says I'm at the ideal weight" or whatever is appropriate.

I've definitely got the cyclist look. 6'1" and somewhere around 145 lbs.
Off the bicycle I tend to be a little self conscious about not being a "bigger man", but on the bicycle i frikken fly, so whatcha gonna do...

Years ago I went from 210 to 160 (5'10"). I felt great. Everyone thought I had cancer.
Sadly, I'm back up to 210#. I'd love to lose the weight again, but I would get tired of being asked about chemotherapy and who I'm having an affair with.
I might do it anyway.
