Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bummer! You’re comment reminds me of the Taylor Swift lyrics “…and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.”

One of the reasons I called out the "Late afternoon sun here in the PNW".

Good point! I didn’t even think about that. I was trying to use the light - unfortunately low - to bring out the carbon.

My location is surrounded by hills and this was the most neutral wall I had available at the time I took the picture.

No hate, just disappointment.
Sure the lighting highlights the CF. but I'm not so sure that makes it look better.

They are. But this is purely a race bike and I wanted the cockpit slightly higher so I could constantly be in the drops.

I agree. It takes something away from the big picture…

Cooking, perhaps, and about as hot as it's ever going to get at that. Like the oatmeal on the stove cooking now.

The caad9 would be better with shallower drop bars. For a 48/50 frame full size bars are huge. And the lever reach is probably a bit far for small hands. (Sort of like the bmc with the bars as low as the rim)

Is the seat at the right height for your stature, Or is the stem correctly sized? The overall reach seems disproportionate to the stack

i love the bike.

They're compact drops though. The CAAD 9 is actually shorter than I'd like. 703mm is correct saddle height. 130mm stem is correct (for me).

Cool. It is all about fit. (On both ends of the sizing scale the proportions look "off" when components are standard sizes.)

I'm definitely comfortable in the drops on the BMC though. I might switch the bars out now that the CAAD... exists. Gonna be my race bike.

so, we're just going to decide that to be considered hot, we eschew bar tape and cables entirely?
