Experiences with the following helmets
Hey guys, after a few months with my KASK Vertigo KOM edition I've gotten sick of it not fitting well on the ears. I don't regret buying it because I like how it looks but in terms of comfort my Atmos was way better and the Vertigo's ventilation isn't that great. It's unique and awesome looking though. So I've started looking at the following helmets which I like the looks of and seem to be good.
1) Specialized Evade - tried it once and like it tons for fit. Not sure about ventilation since I never rode with it.
2) Giro Synthe - Very new and I've never even seen on in store.
3) Giro Air Attack - I like it but people do complain about lack of airflow, didn't ride it.
4) POC OCtal - Never even see one in person but looks cool
5) POC Octal Aero - same as above, although ventilation looks terrible.
Opinions, experience etc?
Thanks,
Luis

The Giro Synthe won't be available until late Fall or December.
I tried the Specialized Evade on and it's fits very similar to the Giro Atmos. The only problem is I don't think ventilation is any different than the Air Attack.
I plan on waiting until the Synthe is out.

I'd buy whatever is the most normal looking and most aero, whatever people wear in the tour would be a good choice too. I think the LG Course looks good and is aero.

Octal is really light.
FWIW I have Bell, Giro, Catlike, and Lazer.

I have an Air Attack (without the shield). It works well for me as long as there's some relative wind. Air goes up under the front brim and through the small vents flowing over the scalp so cooling for me is pretty good. In still or slow air, like climbing with a tail wind, it's hot. It also likely depends on how it fits the shape of your head, how much hair you have and how dense it is.

Giro's website shows the synthe for sale at $250. I personally like the looks of the evade best but I really don't like that it is totally specialized looking. I know it isn't a big deal but i'd be riding a giant and i dont want all my accessories to say s-works everywhere...
when i tried the air attack it was a small size so it didnt fit well so i cant comment really. I also didn't look great on my face since it made me look like the mushrooms from mario bros. however, can't help to think it looks badass when somebody else is wearing it.
As for POc they are darn exepnsive. I wonder if there any shops near me that carry it. It looks cool. The catlike is nice in the Movistar and sky theme but i dont want the helmet to be that specific.

I love the Catlike and it is quiet. Wind noise drives me crazy.

Had an Giro Air Attack since just after they came out, so about a year now, never had an issue with ventilation, although I guess it is a bit colder in the UK then GA; nice comfy helmet.

The Atmos is $130 on amazon, not sure why other helmets are costing in the 200 to 250 range besides design elements or if it can be proven it's more aero than the Atmos. Most of the tests I read are versus "a normal helmet" whatever that means.
