Hi! I want to buy a bike Specialized Roubaix,somebody sells for 1000 euro,but I'm not too good at bicycle So please if you can help me with some advice.I know that bicycle has Shimano105 equipped black,wheels are Mavic Ksyrium SL,the bike is carbon,but I dont have more details! I will attach some pictures and please advise me if it is worth it or not.

Is it the proper size for you? It looks like a very small bike. It looks several years old. I am not familiar with the prices for used Specialized bikes in Europe so I cannot tell you whether it is worth it or not. The most important question is: Is the size correct for you?

If it fits and the there is no obvious damage that's a good deal with those wheels. It's the previous generation Shimano 105 (5600) so the bike is probably a 2011 or earlier.

+1 on making sure it fits you. How much is 1000 euros in US ? You can search that bike on ebay and there is also a "blue book" for bikes that can give you an idea. We have 2 Roubaix's in our garrage. They ride really well. I don't think that bike is that old maybe 4-5 years. Thats not a lot if has been taken care of

Looks like a 2009 Roubaix Expert. One question, why does the color scheme of the fork not match the main frame? I have the Tarmac for that year and the fork color scheme (silver stripe) follows from the fork to the main frame. The Specialized catalog shows the Roubaix with the silver stripe on the fork, not red as shown in the picture. Is that a replacement fork? If yes, why? dstrong asks the #1 question, does it fit you?

Sharp eyes on the replacement fork. I'd ask about it and maybe use it to offer a bit less. Nice wheels ($$$ upgrade), decent group (nice that it includes the crank and calipers), probably a good value if it fits.

That looks like a 54cm which isn't small, more like medium.

I'm thinking that maybe it was replaced in the service and they didn't had the original one. Maybe the earlier ones have this newer sticker pattern. Who knows. He is not the first owner as much as I know.

The concern is WHY was it replaced. If there was crash damage, the frame needs to be checked out very carefully. If it was some sort of recall, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Check the frame VERY carefully for any damage at all. A fork mismatch is quite unusual and strange. The Roubaix is a good bike but not if it has been crashed badly.

That just about $1,350. I don't think a bike that old is worth it especially with the complicated and dubious provenance. You can do better new for that money in the US. I don't know about in Europe.

That's brand new and of course, you don't always have to pay retail... no mismatched forks, no possible frame damage and a life time warranty against defects. Only you can decide if the discount is worth it but personally I would want more of a discount.

New bike prices in the USA aren't terribly relevant to the OP who is located in Vienna. Converting euros to USD also confuses issues further because the dollar is weak relative to the euro. The relevant question would be how much a new Roubaix costs in the OP's region?
