Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I hope moving the seat backwards does not compromise your knee and leg position too badly. You can get handlebars with a long reach that could give you another 10-15mm of reach if that helps. Nice bike. I hope you can find a position that works for you. I have had good luck using a fit specialist from the Specialized BG Fit program.

I pushed the seat back as far as i could on the rails after that early morning ride and figured i would take it out for my saturday morning ride of about 26 miles. it was torture. Way too tight, so i decided to take it back as soon as i had a chance and see about a wider bar, possibly a setback post, etc. Happened to drive by that shop during work a few days later, and the shop was closed down! Not a mention from the shop owner or his employee who i dealt with about them closing this location while i was buying. There goes any tweaking or other service after the sale.
I'd get a proper fit before you buy anything else.

+1 on this for sure. If you can't find a BG fit place, try a Retul or Guru fit. More money for sure.

Those bars look very deep. That's quite a drop if you ride in the drops. The bike is looking great. I like the white bar tape with the titanium. Droooooooool!

Curious about your thoughts on the Lynskey seatpost and why you switched to the Thompson. How easy is it to adjust the Lynskey? Can't buy your BTW as mine is a 27.2.

Only switching to the Thomson because Lynskey doesn't make a 31.6 setback post. The Lynskey is easy to adjust. The Thomson came highly recommended as a high quality setback post.

I picked up a used Lynskey Sportive last October off of a CL ad. I wasn't really looking to replace my Cannondale (yet), but it was a very sweet deal- Ultegra groupset, Mavic hoops on Shimano hubs, CK headset, etc. It took a bit of time to dial it in, but it really has a great ride.

Finally finished with the Cooper. Thomson setback seatpost and a 105 crankset to finish it off. The fit is much better with the new post.

If you ride those bar drops on the angled section, the depth is adjustable depending how high up you grab them. You don't ride on the bottom ends.

yeah. The polished aluminum just doesn't match the frame. I would go black. Perhaps you could trade your Thompson for a black one?

I tend to agree with you both, the aluminum clashes with the ti. It is more so in person. I have a black one on order. Thanks for your confirmation.

How're you keeping the white bar tape clean? And yes, really nice.

Unless it is microfiber like the Fizik brand, you don't.
