Cervelo R3/S2 vs 2015 Synapse Carbon 105
Okay guys, please please help me out on this.
I've been riding a Allez for about 2 years. Lots of miles. Love it.
Time for an upgrade though
So it comes down to these two (technically 3) bikes.
Cervelo R3/S2 or the 2015 Synapse Carbon.
Originally my heart was set on the Synapse Carbon. Super plush. I test drove a couple 2014's and they felt gooooood. Loved the relax geo it was also easy on my back which is very important. Decided to wait for the 2015 because its so close to release.
Then I read about cervelo bikes and how they were the best bang for the buck. That the ride is unmatched and it just feels like the ultimate riding machine. I guess in a way, I bought into the hype. I haven't ridden a cervelo yet but if you guys think its def the type of bike that is better than the synapse, I have no problem driving an hour or so to do a test ride.
Can someone chime in on the two (or three) bikes? How is the geo? Ride quality, etc etc. Are either the R3 or S2 like the Synapse Carbon in terms of the SYnapse is an endurance bike etc etc. All thoughts are welcome.

Never ridden a Synapse but love my Cervelo R3. That said, I think the differences between bikes at that level are minimal and idiosyncratic. You really can't go wrong.

Never rode a synapse but i saw it had an excellent rating. I used to see lots of guys get Cervelos for racing and they all claim it's an excellent bike.

I personally wonder about the S5. My LBS has a 2012 S5 with Rival on it on clearance for $3200 (show a normal price of $4800). Seemed like a good deal. Apparently it is the "Team" model. I just was not sure about an Aero bike and if is something ever worth considering considering I am not really into racing.

If you like your Allez so much what's stopping you from trying a Tarmac? Get a 2014 when the 2015 models come out and save some shekels. Unless you're one of those people who needs ot have the latest and greatest in which case thanks for making it easy for guys like me to save some shekels.
I'm not sure I'd put a Cervelo and a Synapse on the A/B side of a comparison chart though. The usual suspects in the endurance (cough, old man, cough) category is Roubaix, Synapse, Defy, Felt Z and probably a few others.
