Origin8 Crank wont fit BB correctly? maybe?

i just got an origin8 crank set to put on a Puch frame to convert it to a SS/FG (i know Origins arent the best, but it was cheap and this is just a cruise around bike).

i bought a pair of shimano tiagra 49mm calipers for my 1982 miyata 310; didnt really think about it, impulse buy cuz they were cheap. now, after looking at them im sure theyre not the right size. ...

thanks to everyone for the help; i replaced my brake levers and am in the process of trying to figure out how to put newer 3 lever calipers on (maybe get long reach?)

maybe im just whining...

road accessories on a budget

i have a 1982 miyata 310; i love it.
but im slowly taking away some of the older parts and replacing them with newer (i just swapped out the brake levers).
im a college student so im not wealthy...
