I wouldn't see why dumbbells bars wouldn't work. There are very few breaks between sets, so if your trying to take weights on and off a lot it might get tedious.

I was signed up for the 50 mile route, but My goal is 100. Plus I just found out the 50 mile route is really and 40 miles. It's a fairly flat course...
