What if I tighten all the left side spokes by 1/2 turn, and then apply the seating and stress relieving steps from the mentioned article? Would that help?

Thanks for all the replies. The problem has solved itself: the rim broke, and I bought a new wheel with 36 spokes. I don't want to speculate why it broke, there might have been a few other reasons...
