The Specialized lock mounted in that position in no way interferes with the operation of the bike. Not even when the bike is folded and resting on the support below the bottom bracket.

While having my Sons' new Downtube FS tuned-up at the LBS I bought a Specialized cable lock that clips to the included bracket. I'll post pics right now if I can.
