In all the catalogs I've found, Dawes offered two models of tandems, but they weren't really much different. The better one (the "Good Companions") was spec'd with Williams cranks; the cheaper one...

Harris has them, and also Bikewagoncat on Ebay. I've been meaning to try those, so here's my chance. I hope they're good for a 60 lb tandem with 300 lbs of crew!

Oh, I forgot to ask - does anyone have a suggestion for replacement tires for the Dunlop Tandems? They're marked 26 x 1 3/8 but I haven't figured out yet whether they're 590 or 597 BCD.
