Strayduck,

I'm totally biased, of course, but the MY12 paint is the best of all the Venturis, including the first generation frames. As you note, the richness of the blue has its own energy, and...

The Venturi doesn't have a tapered head tube, and even if it did, I don't think that would make a difference in ETT measurement, which is always-- in so far as I have seen-- measured...

No, the Venturi is not particularly light; with a pretty mid-grade build like mine, my M/L size bike is hitting the scale right at 20lbs fully dressed (pedals, cages, Garmin bits). I don't know what...

Strayduck, what do you think of the ride quality and handling?

EDIT: Those Crud Mk 2s are really nice fenders. I bought a set hoping to fit them to my Lemond, which is rolling on 25s, for the...

Yeah, I'd say it's pretty typical for any particular frame, in the smaller sizes, to have the head angles slacken and the seat tube steepen, so the geometries are different.

I've seen that too, but while the description says 2012, the pictured item is not a '12, but probably a '13. It's easy to tell by the paint; the '12 is what Breezer called their 35th Anniversary...

Yeah, well the Venturi is a pure race bike, and I think a lot of people expect that, just because it's steel, that it's going to be more relaxed and flexible in some ways. That's totally incorrect,...

With the Michelin Pro Optimum 25s, there is maybe a business card worth of clearance to the sides, so I guess it works.

I snapped a couple of pics before I ran out the door, hoping these might help. The shot of the front shows a gap just large enough to slide a 4mm allen key into. The rear is perhaps twice that...

Yes, that's what I understood you were getting at, so no worries there. As I said though, I don't know that a larger frame would do much, as I think the handling characteristic is derived from the...

RPP,

Perhaps sizing up would mitigate the effect of the 74º head tube angle, but I think the quickness is a result of the geometry, not the front weighting, although you are correct that I'm short...

Little... I don't have time to slap on a wheel set with 25s right now-- I can do it later tonight-- but eyeballing it, it's very snug up front, and maybe not possible, while the rear is roomier.

Well, as my first season with the Venturi winds down, I wanted to post an update with some more informed insights. I put about 1,500 miles on it this summer, and feel like I know it pretty well at...

Nice Ed!

The black wheels are the way to go on this bike; they really visually anchor the vibrant indigo blue of the frame.

The bag on the stem/TT however...I guess it's practical, but...

Thanks, hawiken! I had a friend in the early '90s who had a Lightning MTB, which shared this paint scheme, and I thought it was one of the best looking bikes on the trail! I've wanted a Breezer,...

Presuming you meant "it's hot," thank you!

Regarding the geometry, yes, I agree it is aggressive, which is part of what I meant I was looking for when I said I wanted modern steel.

Breezer Venturi

I just received my new '12 Breezer Venturi, which I had built up with Athena Carbon 11 speed, rolling on Ksyrium Equipe Ss. It came out great, in my opinion, although I'm wondering what I was...
