Tange 1 and Prestige are just 4130. The Prestige is thinner because it is heat treated like Reynolds 725. That's not mid range stuff.

Not so. The alloy used in 853 can be heat treated before welding without losing the strength gained from the heat treating during the welding step. So you don't have to heat treat the finished...

Well that's what advanced tube and frame design will do for you. After all, the material used to make 520 tubes is essentially the same as what goes into (went into?) the revered Columbus SL tubes....

520 is just standard CrMo steel (4130). It can be heat treated after welding to gain significant strength. Nothing not to like.
