Luckily, I am sufficiently turned off to the idea of rim brakes as to not have them on the bike I'll be using for this trip. Either disc or drum it shall be.

I don't know about blowing out the tubes by heating them up, but on my current Schwinn, the rims brakes are actually eating through the rims. :eek: Left long enough they will go completely through...

I had seen the Bushtrekka, but not having bothered to look for it on Amazon, I hadn't found a place selling it, and assumed it would probably run in the thousands as similar (motorcycle) trailers do....
