I think the Pittsburgh construction stalled out completely. And I'm not sure the status of the hoped-for one in Minnesota, but I don't think it got the state funding it was looking for in the recent...

in the USA, ours is all tied up in corporate welfare and tax breaks for football stadiums that get used as many as 8 times per year.

They key part of your comment is "considering the country's population." The US has a decent showing, internationally. In the past few years we've gotten a respectable share of medals at World Cups....

That all sounds nice and true but the flip side is that the cost to put a 250m track in a building is something like 2-3x the cost to put a 200m track in a building. Don't quote me on that number,...
