The bolts should be torqued to stop saddle from slipping and no more.
Otherwise there is a risk damaging the rails, especially carbon rails.

Anyway I've never had problems with a Thomson seat...

FSA K-Force Carbon Seatposts

In the past I had an issue with this seatpost to do with the saddle clamping mechanism.
The threads on the two bolts got stripped whilst riding.

I was wondering if this issue has now been fixed...
