Cool! I figured it was a legal thing, making sure the masses don't hit the cranks on the FD due to sloppy adjustment. Hoping actually, since my '74 cranks and BB are in awesome shape!

Campy Strada crank / BB / front derailleur question

I know Campy changed the spacing of the crank arm and length of the BB spindle to comply with the CPSC demands of '77/78 for a lip on the FD. This added an extra 1.5mm.
