Brake cables? Gimmicky wheels? All I can see in that pic is a bell mounted to the stack... I'm blinded to anything else.

Check the links. It was a poor (engineering) student who couldn't afford a real tri bike, so he built it. That explains the mish-mash.

Nah, that thing is actually wood. There's an instructible on how to make your own TT bike out of wood on the internet somewhere. You can tell in that pic because the rear dropout is a metal insert....
