the pedals are about 4 years old and have been ridden on nyc streets almost every day since their birth.

trackstar called EAI for me today and they've ordered the factory spec'd replacements (at a cost of ~$30 for the 4 sealed cartridges - ouch, but...

what bearings for MKS RX-1 track pedals?

i'm overhauling my RX-1s and need to replace the bearings in them.

i removed the cartridges and the smaller outboard bearings are 688, but the larger inside bearings have no markings on them.
