I just took delivery of these Verdestein 20c tire's I bought from flebay for a bargain price of $38 for a pair. Reviews of 20c's say they have a higher rolling resistance than 23c's at the same pressure but 20c's are nomally run at higher pressure so I'm keen to give them a try at 140psi. But whatever happens they should be worth it for the price

In the olden days when I used to race crits, I used 20c all the time. They are sensational but as you'd guess, they won't absorb much.

I just got back from one of my typical late night rides and got some snaps.

If this guy stopped spinning his head like in the poltergeist movie it would have been clear.

This is the Trans Australian railway it crosses the whole continent west to east.

This is the same line at the end of Googs track and 1000km from the last pic. I crossed approx 300 sand dunes to get here.

Not my picture, but it's the Boulder, CO fire. One of the 10 fires in Colorado.

I saw that on the news tonight and it looks very bad. I hope there's no future danger for you.

I'm pretty safe in Denver.
...but my friend's dad's house in Boulder might be in danger.

But at least we get a beautiful red sunset (something to do with how the light refracts through the carbon molecules in the air).

Aussie fire fighters usually fly over to help for big fires and American fire fighters come over here for the big ones. I wonder if our boys are helping now.

I sure hope so! There's a fire here that has been burning for more than 2 weeks!

When you say old do you mean you don't own it any more, it doesn't look old?

"Old", as in 2006 or 2007-built. I had it listed for sale on CL in hopes of replacing it with a road bike, and several lookers called my bike "old", as they tried to offer me peanuts for it. It rides fine, though I had to put the stock saddle back on yesterday after accidentally poking a hole in the gel seat shown in the photos.

The car? It's a '96 w/ 210,000 miles on it, so it's kinda' old.

Bikes: Monark sportser 1970, Monark sportser 1970ish, Monark folder, Mustand 1985, Monark Tempo 1999, Monark 318 1975, Crescent 319 1979, Crescent 325 c:a 1965, Crescent Starren 2002 (hybrid/sport), Nordstjernan 1960`s cruiser.

I´ve been to the german island Rügen. The island is an highly profiled bike riding paradise and it is covered by miles and miles of bike paths. Entire families come to tour the island to experience the unique culture and splendid beach life. This is, however, not the best place for road/speed riding; one need to ride on the paths due to narrow roads and heavy traffic (best way to stay alive?) during the summer season. And the paths can be crowded, including younger folks...

All over the island theres bike rentals and the bikes are usually sturdy touring- or hybridbikes (including racks, carriers, panniers etc.). All the rentals I checked had well taken care of bikes and the shopowners were all friendly and serious about their business. I rented a german Kreidler and had some real sightseeing. On pic I´m in the town of Sellin with the beach and ahead and below me. And yes, the german beer is as always unmatched!

I had a look on Google Earth at Rugen island and no idea that tip of Germany was an island? It looked like a nice place to ride with lots of country side and small towns. Very nice.

Me & the family will probably go back next summer. Now we know enough to bring own bikes next time. For us coming from central Sweden, biketouring from one beach to another is pretty WOW! I understand if you aussies doesnt share our excitement...you´ve got it all there!

The daughter took the fast lane back from the beach!

I was feeding the chickens at home and took some pic's of a few locals. These guys are like pets now.

This one is carrying a growing joey.

This fella is about a year old and was born on our property.

I stumbled onto a race course while riding today and took some pic's. Nothing to special then watched some finishers at the 24 Hour Reliability trial just to see how beat up they were. I miss doing this!
