Complete bike. First two photos are before. Last two are after a simple water and brush cleaning. Starting to peel the onion.

I bought a set of wheels with a flip flop rear hub about a month ago and was thinking of using them with this bike. It seems pretty light as is, and seems like a good candidate for fixie/ss duty.

I bought a flip/flop rear wheel from my LBS last month. I'm waiting for a freewheel, I have to order some non-aero levers and I have to dig up a front sidepull.
Let's form a club, print T-shirts, hold a convention, etc....

Crazy good deal on Chicago CL yesterday. Early 70's Super Sport in fantastic condition with original brooks, generator lighting, Cinelli bartape, and Cateye computer -$125.
The guy I bought it from said he couldnt get anyone to buy it at $175, his original listing price and needed the room in his garage. I wasnt looking to buy another bike, just looking for a bike to flip on CL and this Super Sport popped up. The ad had NO pictures. I went to look at it with no idea of what to expect, and this beauty was waiting for me. Absolutely beautiful condition for a 35 year old.
Also comes from Seversons Schwinn in Lombard Illinois which is the shop Marc Muller ran before getting to Paramount/Waterford.

I got this bike from my uncle. He had it hanging in his garage where it has been for a good 15+ years. It's a Takara Competition, but I'm not sure what year it's from. It has Shimano 600 components all around. It actually rides pretty good. I road it this morning on my ride.

You are correct about 08820. But, the spring and fall cleanup days are scouted by pros. I noticed a bike pump with bad washer but a good hose in the AM when I was jogging. I have a pump that needs the hose but it was gone when i passed by in the PM. I see folks with pickups cruising all hours on those weeks prior to those days. Yesterday I picked up a broken bike, to scavenge some parts, guess what the brand was, Magna. Not worth posting here.

The long summer drought is over! I complained yesterday in another thread what a bust this yard sale season has been for me, and then this! Both complete and hardly used. One is a TVT built Eclipse Carbon 7 with full Dura Ace and Dura Ace AX seatpost. The components date from late '85, so it's likely this is an '86! At 49 cm, it qualifies as East Hill Design™ If I could find the mechanic who put this together, I'd kiss him/her. Everything was heavily greased, so disassembly was a snap.
The second is a Fonlupt Sprint. I can't find any information about them on the internet. I assume it's either French or Canadian. Components date from '94, so it's a '94/'95. Looks very nicely built with very attractive paint. Components are full RSX with the sought after brifters. The crank is a compact 46/36, but it doesn't have cantis, so it's probably not a cyclocross specific bike. Not sure what the thinking was on the chainrings.
Oh, and I could only talk the seller down $10 because I got there right when the sale started. She claimed she received a flood of emails on the bike (she had listed it in her craigslist ad, with a pic!). Sorry if I beat any of the BF brethern to it (well, not really). On the way out I donated that $10 to her son for his 'Pennies for Peace' fundraiser. I don't think the mother saw, so she probably still thinks the guy who bought the bikes was a lowballing scumbag.
They did come with wheels, just didn't make it to the photo session:

Bikes: Steyr Waffenrad (My personal favorite), Batavus Sport, Raleigh sport, Miyata 1000, old school Giant hybrid, several vintage transient projects, and a Raleigh Mixte for my FWB's. ;^)
This is why you always buy the Junk Man a beer.
Schwinn American Spirit, 2 spd hub, Bendix hand shifter, sprung iron seat, 100% original Ser#16083 and a front fore-wheel cantilever brake.
Would anyone like to venture what I have here?

Giant!
My daughter is a very smart young lady. She saw someone was throwing out a Giant, so she picked it up and rolled it home. Now she has an early '90's Giant Allegre, steel frame, Shimano RX 100 group, Wolber rims, nitto stem, Vetta saddle. I wiped it off, pumped up the tires, and its almost good to go!

+1, I have to agree. I check it almost daily, and my wife can't understand why I would care what old bikes others are pulling from dumpsters and buying at garage sales. I guess I'm living vicariously and thats okay with me.

The front brakes you have were an accessory and are quite rare. They are worth ~$80 in good shape.

Or they lived there. I found that shop after searching, too, so I guess it's possible its a shop branded frame. The decals are above the clearcoat.
There is one BF thread mentioning Fonlupt, posted by Bianchigirl. Apparently, in mid August, there was a Fonlupt listed on CL in South Jersey. I doubt this is the same bike.

I just picked this one up from Craigslist. It just needs air in the tires and a dust off.
Do you think I paid too much?

I picked this up off of Ebay, local pickup. 1985 Fuji Club, suntour cylone components. This may end up a keeper, time will tell.

Had a by nice night at the shop... had two friends drop by and both came bearing gifts of vintage leather.
Received a Brooks B5N and an Ideale 52 Professional that will need a little tlc but both are in very sound shape.

Looks to be one year newer than mine, IE: a 1986 model. Get ready for a really nice ride, if it's anything like mine. They handle quite nicely, and the ride is firm but soaks up the bumps very well. The quad butted tubing also feels pretty stiff when out of the saddle. It's one of the bikes I will keep forever if possible. Mine came with ARX, but I upgraded it to Cyclone. Maybe the 86 came with Cyclone, or someone was thinking along the same lines. Either way a really decent ride, and should bring a smile to your face. Nice find!,,,,BD
I have since changed to a modern Fuji saddle which it eerily similar to the factory model, and installed yellow Daeda wrap.

Hey Bikedued, thanks... I am excited to get this bike in my hands, hopefully today.
I was fortunate to find this great Fuji catalog resource. According to the catalog mine is an 85 model and appears to be completely original spec except the toe clips are missing.
https://classicfuji.com/ClubFuji_1985_Page.htm
Here is the catalog page with yours, they have it labeled as a 1984 model. I personally like the red head tube on yours better. Original retail 359.00!
