My 1999 Schwinn Peloton. Reynolds 853 tube with Ultegra and DuraAce components.

I've seen a Madison SS, too!
We got our son a Madison for his first bike, Bombproof.com, great bike, first of many that got stolen after several years.

Some his fault, many not.

He rode the heck out of it.

+1. Our pd finally reinstated the bike patrol; ours is a very small force, and they had staffing problems for a long time after COVID.

Bike cops are more a part of the community; they can't hide in their car, they're out meeting the people who live there. They're also less likely to develop a beer belly.

Found at a yard sale, it was filthy, with no pedals and a shredded seat. Bought it for parts then realized it was viable, took me a couple of hours to get it working. Then a couple more to get the index shifters working properly.... LOL.

And this is what it turned out to be. 1999 Schwinn Circuit. I've not had a Reynolds 853 bike before.

a 853 frame is phenomenal and top notch , comfy and fast, you will like it. Congrats on the find

A Lynskey found on the side of the road? A bike of that caliber I would be worried about it being a stolen bike. You might want to check with the police department before fixing it up and riding it or selling it, because if it is stolen and someone who knows the bike, or the cops are looking for it, and you get caught riding it, you will have a lot of explaining to do that the cops may or may not believe you.

Agreed. It’s crazy that bike would be abandoned on the side or the road…

Welcome to the bay area. School is out so things get left. Pretty useless without a chain, lol.

Picked this ‘83 Trek 520 up for $50. It’s pretty dirty and mostly stock, looks like it hasn’t been ridden in years. It seems to have Nitto Albatross bars, so that’s something. I actually think if I had waited, they were going to put it on the curb for free/:

Curb find, a barely used Wike child trailer. Just need to order a hitch. First grandchild is on the way, I’ll be ready next season!

It is, the tires still have the mold whiskers on them. It's very well built, and all the parts I need are available. Great quality.
