daywood ,
You just made a big mistake! This bicycle shaped object can be on it's way to you for all of those improvements, and saving me a bunch of work. Now I need to know where to send it... S
It appears to be some variant of a Zaskar model and they came in bare aluminum frames.

Mid 80's Mongoose ATB
This was from the FREE pile of one of my neighbors on the block.
Chrome Mongoose "All Terrain" with SunTour XC thumbies (they seem to work fine). Looks mostly original with diacompe brakes and SunTour MounTech front derailleur. But you know that MounTech rear derailleur self-destructed within a few years. The replacement appears to be a Shimano Light Action Z-series derailleur, which is a very serviceable unit. Maybe I will replace it with a long cage AR or V-GT unit when I get a chance, in order to return it to its SunTour origins.
This one sat around for almost a week before I finally grabbed it. Definitely needs some work, and its not light. Off it goes to my garage attic to wait for its turn in the sun.

Bikes: 1 away from divorce!
Picked up a cool little Nishiki Olympic 12 today. Dating it as a 1985 Canadian model (serial number CE11942). The Golden Arrow group and the front rack are what caught my eye. Way too small for me, but will be fun to clean up and tune.
