Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I didn't know seatposts were made that long.

Very sexy bikes. That saddle on the litespeed looks thin, super-thick biking shorts?

whoa...never saw your reply and question. it's a 200sci. i didn't like the feel of the EMS series. it felt sort of dead, like a trek. no offense, trek fans.
yes, the cranks are topline. i've had them for years, but they're so light i just can't make myself switch them out yet. i always hear the breakage stories, but i've never had a problem.

how are you liking your eurus wheels? I'm getting a set this week to replace the Ksyriums that came stock on my bike.

Thats going to suck. Your going to everyday check the shipping, be like i want it to come i want it to come. Then when it comes you will be the happiest person in the world, thats how it is when ever i order bike stuff.

Just realized I've never posted on this thread...

Here's my '95 Klein Quantum. Since the pic was taken I've added Look pedals (black) instead of swapping my mountain clipless (Richey) and changed the seat to a Sella Aspide Ti something or other...

me, I'm guessing... The all black thing now even goes all the way to my shoes (Sidi Genius 4 - black, of course) It's funny since the black Look pedals (on sale from Performance) have red and white writing as do the Sidi shoes!

The handle bars are "ok". I do wish they had the "bump" in in the curve that the newer bars have these days. It is, of course, a pretty heavy bar since it wraps back towards the head tube. They are old Scott bars.

They are awesome. Crosswind doesn't affect it at all. I can stand up and climb like I did before. Now when I'm going 20+ mph it makes the cool disc-wheel sound, except a little quieter

me too! I assume you got the 2004 with the Ksyriums...how do you like the Fizik Arione saddle? The only change I am making is to swap out the bars and stem for an FSA K-Wing Carbon with OS-115 stem. I rode a 613 demo with this combo and it was really great, easy on the hands in so many different positions and with internal cable routing, plus it looks way cool......the stock 2004 R2000 is a real steal, particularly if you can get a year end price like I did, well below 2K....

Frames from soulcraft are $1250 and they only have custom sizing. I've been really happy with it... amazing ride. I wish I had a better picutre of the color, when it's in the sunshine it has subtle sparkle to it.

Hi All,

Lots of nice rides out there. Perhaps I'm counting my eggs before they hatch (because I "won" my bike on eBay, and should get it in about 1 week). Anyway, I'll attach some pics from the auction. Hope I didn't get ripped off!! I think the only thing I'll have to change (in the near future) is the handlebars for a wider set. I'm not in the best of shape (yet), so when you guys w/ better engines blow by me, try not to laugh at the old, fat, slow newbie on the Victoire!! I'll try not to be a poseur Yep, it's triple because 1 -- I'm out of shape, 2 -- I take road trips to the Mountains in Vermont, Upstate NY, Western Mass and New Hampshire.

Victoire is French for "Victoria", meaning victory (didn't know the French had a word for that!! ). But ain't she real purty?

I've posted this bike a couple months ago when it was originally built, but it just got some major upgrades (wheels and bar) so I thought I'd post updated. If I do say so myself, Damn that's pretty...
