I might be in for it. I need to get in more miles so I would probably head over to climb 9, descend Page Mill then meet at the start of OLH.

Yes, yes, yes, yes ... I'm not on-call, and I'll be home, so I am definitely interested.

You don't want to go 35, to 92, back to the start? Just wondering.

WOLH isn't a very fun descent. Just my $0.02. Plus if, from the top of OLH, you head north on 35 and west on 84, you can get water at Skylonda.

Yeah, I usually go up WOLH.

I agree, and will go through Skylonda.

We could, but that part isn't so fun in regards to traffic and room IMHO.

A good rider can keep up with traffic with only a minimal amount of pedaling. If there is a lot of traffic at the summit, try to jump in a gap between a faster car and a slower truck. Accelerate hard in the on-ramp so that you're spinning your fastest gear before you hit the highway. You should be able to beat the truck down the hill and the truck won't try to pass you anyway.

Slow or wobbly descenders may feel very uncomfortable on this road. It is only 2 miles or so, though.

I love a challenge!
so is this ride official? so we can make plans. I had been tentatively planning a Tam ride, but I'd move that down the road.

Can you tell that to the Safeway truck that tried to pass me without much room on that route today?

Am I the only one who LIKES descending WOLH? East OLH - that has to be the least fun descent on the whole Peninsula. But West is nice - scenic, no traffic, you can take it at your own pace, and there's room to get by all the potholes without slowing down.

Marco, do this ride again in May, and I'll join you. I need to build my climbing legs before I tackle Tunitas Creek again.

If you do it this weekend, I'll have company at least. I will be the slowest one up the hill.

I like descending WOLH. The west side has a lot better visibility than the east side. The road is narrow and bumpy and there is some uphill traffic, so don't go too fast. Just enjoy the scenery. If you're heading out to the coast, be very careful turning left at the stop sign at the bottom of the hill. Traffic coming up Hwy 84 on the left is very hard to see (and sometimes very fast). Listen as well as look before proceeding. Because of safety at that corner (i.e. careless cyclists), most local centuries avoid WOLH (downhill).

For the descent back after Tunitas, is the any objection to adding a few miles by taking 35 back to 84, and descending 84 back to Woodside. King's is a bit technical for some, and 92 is a bit sketchy.

Besides I love the 84 descent

What kind of start time? I would prefer to not drive my car over there, and am somewhat burned out on Canada road.
