New Athena - Intro

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to introduce myself, browsing these forums has been awesome, SO much information to take in I am glad I found them!

I am an Athena Mountain Biker, but road bike as well, and well I am teetering on the Athena/Non Athena weight range but compared to some girls out there I will always be an Athena

I havent been biking long, but am slowly coming into it and really like it!! Im also hoping it will help me get in better shape, not just weight wise but overall health.

The farthest I have biked on one trip yet is 5 miles, not very far but I am working up!

Anyways, hope to meet everyone! You are all so informative!

Welcome!

It's nice to see another person doing both; makes life interesting! Besides MTBrs seem to be a tad friendlier

I lost 20# this year so far cycling; it's a great sport, no matter what distance you ride...

Welcome! Nice to see you hangin out here. I'll tell my lovely Athena wife to stop in and say Hi as well. I was a mountain bike only kind of rider untill this summer. I found road bikes are pretty fun, once you get over the fear of getting squished by idots. But, that is another thread.

Welcome!

Hey, it doesn't matter what you ride or far you ride it. So long as you're out there doing it, each and every ride is an improvement in your/our quality of life.

My hat's off to anyone who decides to take up riding at this time of year in Idaho. I'd need a full blown exposure suit to ride in winter time that far North!

Welcome a fellow MTBer. Although once you really get the bug, it (almost) wont matter what the bike is as long as you get to ride it.

Thanks everyone. I am in southwest Idaho, about an hour outside of Boise so it doesnt get too terrible weather wise here until around late Dec/early Jan. Which is nice for riding late in the year.

Hey, back at ya!
Since my 'right weight' is 180lbs, I too will always feel like an Athena (not that I'm at my right weight, yet!)

biking helped me get into better shape and I'll bet it'll work for you too.

PIctures, must have pictures...

My first ride (three years ago) was one mile out (thought I was going to die) and one mile back (KNEW I was going to die). I didn't. As someone's signature says, "That which does not kill me has made a serious tactical mistake!"

Welcome from one Athena mountain biker (Alright I also ride road). You live up in great country - I'm jealous. I would love to retire either in Idaho or Utah - endless great mountain biking everywhere!
