I just crossed paths with the World Naked Bike Ride. Sorry about the distant cell phone pic but that's as close as I was getting.

So what do I do? Put some kind of spacer between the dropout and nut(requiring a new extra long axle)? Do some kind of modification to the strut? pull my hair out and start all over again with a frame that was meant for a rack and fender in the first place? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccck!! I was so happy and then so very sad.

Are there any trails around that are within easy riding distance to get to? Still not sure if I should take 1 or 2 bikes with me for the 6 weeks. Seems I have my priorities in order.

Well done, that sounds like a great adventure. Could you guys imagine training on those roads? Rent a room in some mansion in West van, and you will get a polka dot jersey every night coming home from work.

Good for you! That's a nice shop. If you stay away from the trendiest areas (Kitsilano especially), you should be OK finding a place to live. I used to live in Edgemont Village (North Van) and loved the place.

I'll be there from July 2 until August 8th. Going to be busy. Classes are from 8:45 until 5:45 Mon-Fri. with 3-4 hours of work a night. Ugh.
Are there any trails around that are within easy riding distance to get to? Still not sure if I should take 1 or 2 bikes with me for the 6 weeks. Seems I have my priorities in order.

I say bring two bikes one for the road & one for the dirt if your staying at your in-laws there are trails a plenty!
We ride mostly Sunday mornings & some weekday eavings.

with this string of awesome weather, is everyone out riding = dead thread?
I donuted back to back and sunday was just too nice so I tried to hang with the pack along vandorf sideroad:
got in 170+km's...
it was also a shake down run for my new used wheelset.
and yes the internal nipple tuning tuned park tool is now toast.. i may have better luck truing these by twisting the bladed spokes...... ugh..
hot or not? its 8 speed downtube friction!

Definately hot.
Myself and about a dozen people from the tofixd group went on a ride out to Mississauga and back on Sunday. Beautiful weather and a nice solid pace along lakeshore for a good bit in each direction. Including my ride to and from the meetup place I put in about 80 kilometers for the day, which is quite decent by me

Yeah that was likely us. We started and finished the ride in bellwoods and we were the only big group of fixed gear bikes that I'd seen. A few of the guys are into that kind of thing and do trick nights every tuesday. We usually do a decent quick paced ride on Sundays of about 50km or so.
