Then Bloor/Danforth all the way across which isn't one of my favorite roads at all but seems to always be a great way to get east quickly.

Riding up I didn't realize Keele had a split and I ended up out at the end of friggin Weston Road of all places
Nice - when I went north on Keele the first time I ended up going toward Black Creek/400 on Tretheway as I didn't know of the Yore Road thing after Eglinton... doh

I like Keele, it's not so bad, and heading south is pretty fast/awesome - I like Dupont as well as Davenport for east/west from there, Davenport is definitely useful so you can get over to Bloor/Church - I always duck east just before Weston and go down some side streets to get to St. Clair West and then Lansdowne/Caledonia to get to Davenport or Dupont - the mess around Keele/Rogers/Old Weston Rd. can be a pain in the ass so I skip it all, and St. Clair West is a warzone right now with the construction so I keep that to a minimum.

I don't think there's much more choice for heading east, unless you go east when you're further north and then drop down Yonge and into Leaside to come through East York from the north (over the Millwood bridge, etc.) - so Bloor/Danforth is probably your best option anyway. I personally won't do the Eglinton thing there, and as much as I do like the hill climbs, Pottery Road isn't on my well-travelled/preferred routes - in fact I've not climbed that hill since last year.

This season's theme seems to be the systematic destruction of every bike-related item I own.

Blown up shoes, pedals, helmet, frame, wheels, saddle ... it's getting frustrating. Hopefully after I replace everything I won't be due again for awhile.

If by "power you supply" you mean "crashes into trees" then yes, absolutely.

For the most part, yes. Pedals/helmet met their fate at the hands of both CX and XC riding.

What can I say: racing is for the rich? Don't race what you can't (or don't want) to replace? Frankly, keeping up with multiple bikes becomes a financial burden, IME.

Wow, I forgot how pissy people get in Toronto when you drag your fingers across their window while you pass them as they're parked in the bike lane. "I'll f*** you up man! Come back here! I'll f***in' kill you."

With any luck, I totally spoiled their day.

this site can distract me for 1 minute, watching a video of the tour means my morning is gone. But, it's not a day I'm too excited about. Tomorrow's Team Time Trial should be pretty impressive. Astana is going to put the hurt on teams.

Gps

Hi helpful forum-folks...

Does anyone here have a GPS they'd be willing to rent to me for 2 weeks?

Don't need anything fancy (doesn't even need to be a bike-specific or even bike-mounted unit), but I'll be riding in North BC and hiking on the Queen Charlotte Islands...

Basically just need something that tracks where I've been and can set waypoints (Which I think are the two most basic features of a GPS)... I doubt there are maps for where I'll be hiking anyways.

PM me if you can help - thanks for reading...

Fair assumption, didn't exactly turn out that way though. You'll see.
