Take off the bottle cages and get some lighter tires to make it sub 20lbs. Haha not really, but it would be pretty neat to have a steel fully geared sub 20lb bike.
Mine is 22.5 according to bikepedia but I don't know how accurate that is.

What in the hell would possess you to drink a beer in the middle of a 10 mile ride? And a sports drink? No water?

it was a 70mi ride....35 there and 35 back.....
i have a full bottle of water in my jersey pocket, which you can't see...didn't wanna carry the beer in my jersey.
and can you not tell how diluted that gatorade is?
like 20% gatorade and 80% water.
oh....and what possessed me?
me wanting to reward myself in the middle of a long ride- so after i carried the beer the 1/2 mile back to this vantage point, i sat down and drank a beer while looking at the lake.
that ok with you?

IMO it just seemed like a really pointless thing that probably isn't worth the reward, especially since you could have waited until you got back. However, I may be biased because I don't drink, therefore I could be wrong about the negative effects a beer would have on a long ride.

Consumption of alcohol during exercise, particularly in hot weather, causes severe dehydration and can even lead to heat stroke. I also do not consume alcohol, and am much healthier as a result.

Amen brother.
Local must-do group ride starts and ends at a commercial microbrewery. Finish ride, enter lobby, pick up empty pint glass, proceed to keg storage area where one of everything they make is on tap. A few who ride to the ride have been known to fill a waterbottle or two for the ride home.
And I debate the 'healthier' high horse. No one is claiming that excessive drinking is good for you, but there is *a lot* of data that moderate alcohol consumption actually improves health.
All that said, Corona is pretty much water anyway. Drink up!
