Teen Forum

Hey, there should be a teen forum...i don't see there being any problems w/ that. i'm 15 and i think it would be cool to have a place where us teens can talk about cycling at our level.

No Age related or Gender based forums: things don't need to be fragmented anymore than they are.

No, svcyclist and I are talking about a forum for teen and youth CYCLISTS. Not a forum for kids on trick BMX bikes. I now understand the reason for not having the forum but still you need to realized that not every 15 year old kid in this forum is a bmxer. It is possible for us to be serious, road and/or moutain, single speed ..whatever, riders

The thing is, until you stated your age, I didn't realise nor did I really care how young you were. I think this belays the fact that when communicating on a reasonably literate manner, age doesn't really play a bearing on the subjects being discussed in any of these forums. If there's an age specific topic then wouldn't it be good to have folks from other age groups participate? Maybe they can offer some insight if they're older since they might have been there and done that. I think that you believe that a Youth's Cycling forum can satisfy some desire for a "place to call our own" but I also believe that it is a misplaced notion.

Since it's probably not going to happen there are two things you can do. One is just state teen somewhere in the title of your thread with whatever teen problem you are having. The other is get some webspace and open up a teen cyclist forum. To my knowledge they are not many good teen forums out there so you may be quite successful with it.
