Just wondering which type of shower (if any) you guys/gals take after a ride. I usually go for a cold shower after the ride, but then I will get another one later (hot) if my muscles are aching.

If it's really hot out, a cold shower. If it's in the 70s, a moderate temperature. When it's cold enough that snot rockets freeze midair and shatter on the ground, a shower just won't cut it. I either take a super-hot bath or jump in the hot tub for a good 20 or 30 minutes until my skin doesn't feel like I just sat naked in a meat locker for the last couple hours. Then a moderate temp shower to actually soap up and clean off.

I guess I'm lucky I dont' have to deal with that, but I do wish it would get a little colder here.

Depends on the temperature outside. I'd say that 50% of the time it ends up being a cold or at least a cool shower after a long ride. Often it's just a warm shower without actually being what I'd call hot (yes, there is a distinction).

I should add that sometimes I don't shower immediately I get home from a ride -- especially if I'm going to be home alone for a while.

And wash of all those pheremones? psh
Just sweat more. So fresh clean sweat flushes off the older smelly sweat.

I take cool or cold showers. I find it's easier on the skin. And nothing wakes you up in the morning better than cool shower.

I second that. At night though nothing beats a hot bath. Then I like to hop in the shower to rince off all the bubbles!!

Nah, start cold, finish hot...or at least warm.

For me it cools me off and clears my head. Then I heat it up a bit so the warm water relaxes my muscles.

I'm a sweating fiend. I have to close my pores down before stepping out, especially at work.

I take a hot shower after I reacclimate to the temp inside the house, I don't feel good afterwards unless I have that "cool down" period

Yup - that's me also. I don't really like the cold part, but I feel that it helps with closing my pores, and therefore, fighting bacterial infection.
