Nitto Noodle bar or bar with cable grooves??
Hi,
I love the look of the Nitto 177 Noodle handlebar, but I see it does NOT have grooves
for cable routing. Would this bar be bad choice for 105 5700 concealed under bar cables
and would I feel the bulge of the cables much more than a bar with the cable grooves??
Thanks

Yeah you would probably feel the cables more. Would it stop me? Nah. I like the noodle bar and think it's shape outweighs the lack of cable grooves.

Bars with grooves are not indented enough to fully envelope the cable housing and you will still feel the cable housing beneath the bar wrap. I normally place the cable beneath the wrap so it falls at a place where the fingers bend giving it an ergonomic feel.

where you tape down the housing matters, some..
run both cables in the front of the bar
and it should be OK ..

Oh man!
I went all the way down 2 floors to check if my old Bridgestone had a groove in the handlebar or not. I couldn't tell for sure. I can tell you for sure that having a groove or not has never bothered me while riding.
