New bike : D

Soma double cross.

With civia sage green fenders - if anyone has any tips on bike accessories that match these please let me know.

Anyway, as victim of the N+1 rule, I'm keeping my old beater. When one co-worker found out, he laughed and replied "Why? You got four legs?". And I still love riding the beater as much as the soma, not quite sure why that is.

I did end up telling my other co-worker how much it cost. Normally, I lock my bike to a work table. But I forgot my lock one day, and my co-worker needed to move it to do some work. He moved it so it was looking out an open bay door, with no one around to watch it. I almost had a mini heart attack. When I told him why a bike like that might be a target for theft, he told me in a very serious tone that implied that I probably wasn't aware: "you could buy a nice used car for that price!".

Nah, I honestly would rather have the bike.

Sweet Ride! Need a dyno hub and some lights on there

What sized frame is that? I would point out to the coworker that while it may cost as much as a cheap used car, it will more than pay for itself in maintenance and operating costs in the first 6 months. And likely will still be in use long after the cheap car has gone to the scrap yard.

+1. There are lots brighter and cheaper lights, but a reliable dynamo light is just pure convenience. They should really put dynamos on all bikes. Even if you want a 5000 lumen Dinotte, or whatever, you can still have the dynamo as a second light.

Nice! I love 'cross bikes. Gotta say, though, that your "old beater" is still pretty sweet too!

Classy looking bike. Great to see someone else using an Axiom rack.
