The Club?
Hi All..I did a quick search about the club but didn't get any hits..I use the club on my car and was wondering if they had one for a bike so I checked it out and here is what I came up with.. and I like the black one but the red one stands out more and might deter thieves..Does anyone use these? If you do what are your opinions about them? Would the red one be BIC proof? Cheers..

It doesn't look like these would do anything a u-lock wouldn't do, and the u-lock is a proven design. BIC-proofness isn't an issue with any u-lock currently on the market.
The "Club" concept doesn't translate well to a bike, because you have to lock the bike to an external object. A Club on a car essentially locks the steering wheel; doing the equivalent thing to a bike may mean you can't ride it away, but you still can throw it in a van and work on the lock later.

On their website they have other security devices..But the bike club is not used like a car club , https://store.nexternal.com/shared/St...t=products.asp the car thief can just cut the steering wheel. It is just to deter the thief, to move on to something easier. On their website they have them for 20.00 and I was wondering if anyone has used these. This seems like it might be more secure than a u-lock but I might be wrong.
YouTube is filled with lots of videos showing Bic pens being used on U-locks and other locks that use that round type of key but this type uses a flat key. I have a U-lock on three of my bikes on the back room just in case someone breaks in but I would hate to lose them to some druggie with a cheap Bic pen, and I need another one for use at work when I commute but would like some reviews before I buy a couple of them..I also think The Club makes a good product, I'm satisfied..Cheers.

I've got 2 of the black ones with the flat key. I got them from some website for about $12 each a couple years ago. No bikes have been stolen while locked with it. I don't believe any attempts were made. One headlight was stolen. It wasn't locked. I use them with confidence.

I have two of them, one for my bike and one extra. I bought them from a closeout store for $7.00 each. I still have my bike. They also sell a mount for that lock for a couple bucks.

I gave up on the Club after the tumbler in one slid out into my hand when I inserted a key and despite shipping everything back with full documentation, I never heard from them.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like a real confidence builder.

You can't buy locks anymore that can be opened with a Bic pen. If you are using one, please buy a different lock. (My friend's sister has an old, old U-Lock with a circular key...recently some thieves attempted to steal her bike. They used a hydraulic jack, but the lock twisted and didn't open. Looks like not everyone knows the bic pen trick.)
