Great Ride today
Todays ride started and finished in South Jersey. This was a training ride (one of four metric centuries) that we have been doing in preparation for the 100 mile century that is on May 12th. Next week might be an 80 mile ride depending on weather. To be frank, I have no clue if I can keep up nor do the distance. I am good until up to 50 miles and then pain sets in.
Do not have a Garmin so the pictures show what we did. 4 hours and 8 minutes of saddle time, 63 plus miles, and 15.2 average with wind. It was a good ride but now I am tired.
Got to ride with some great people from BF today!

Don't know unless you try. You're building capacity, it will be uncomfortable and stretch your limits. After finishing a metric what's 15 or so more miles next week, what's 20 after that for a full century. Relax, you were strong today, you'll be stronger next week. The trend is your friend.

Here are the stats:
Total Duration:04:07:04
(Clock)04:39:49
Total Distance: 63.56miles
Average Speed: 15.43mph
Max Speed: 27.34
Average Pace:03:53
Total Climbing: 1971 ft
A nice steady ride with a good group of people. Everyone looked good, worked together and rode strong today. Today's goal was to: 1)have fun, 2) ride as a group 3) get miles in, and we accomplished all 3. We will only get faster and go further from here. It's going to be a fun year of riding.
Isaac this was only your 4th metric ever, and your 3rd in 3 weeks!!! Reread that to yourself, would you have imagined that 3 weeks ago when we met for that 50 miler and I said "hey you know what I think we should do....?" You said you didn't think you could do it, and now you've 3 back to back to back weekends. On top of that, there is a noticeable difference in your cadence, pedaling style and comfort on the bike. Your speed is up, and the breaks are half of what they were. You're riding strong and the century is definately in your capabilities, stop doubting yourself. I would be the first to tell you if it wasn't a good idea for you to ride it.

chefisaac, I'm glad you are coming around to agreeing with everyone here who told you that you could do anything you set your mind to. If I recall correctly that included me back in July, when you were afraid of your own shadow and didn't think you could ride a dozen miles.
BTW listen to Paisan. If he says a century is in your ability, at this point, it is.
