Does the Bordo lock "rattle" when riding, and does it chip the paint when locked?

I did not want to hijack this thread "What Is An Easy To Carry Lock That Is Still Reasonably Protective?", so I decided to ask the question here instead.

I am thinking about getting an ABUS BORDO 6500 Granit X-Plus Foldable Lock (33 1/2 inch / 85cm long) for my new bike (I currently have a Kryptonite U-Lock on my other bike, which is just fine), but I had heard that it rattles, from one reviewer, when riding and that it may also chip the paint of your bike when it is locking it.

Has anyone experienced either of these things?

i have it in the rubber bag attached where the water bottle goes and I don't have any rattles during my urban commute. i have made on paint chip because i wrap it around the top tube once one end swung down out of my hand and chipped the paint.

Mine is on the waterbottle bosses too, atop my Bike Friday Pocket Llama.
[It's heavy rider upgrade results in a front triangle to lock thru]

the link plates are plastic coated, to resist paint being damaged..
though the end that engages the lock is not coated..

Alright, thanks guys. This was helpful.

Any thoughts on length?

Can you guys tell me which length you bought and whether or not you would go for longer or shorter?

that's what caused the chip. i unlocked it and the end swung down and chipped the paint, which seems to a common problem with the "wet paint effect" of the CUBE bikes.

as far as length goes, I actually wish mine was tiny bit longer (although I can still lock two bikes around a pole/tree with the one I have)

I also have a chain lock, Its longer.. I use them both..

length= I measured mine.. 13cm between rivet centers, X 6 links

they make an 8 link one, too but all the links are shorter,
so its to make it smaller, folded, not longer opened ..

There are a few different sizes, I think depending on the model. 2' 5 and 2' 9. I've also seen a 3' 9. Anyone know if the shorter size (2' 5) will fit a MTB tire and frame?
