Giant Cypress vs Giant Cypress ST?
I know the main difference is the suspension(fork/seat). Is this really a necessity when riding gravel/dirt/paved roads? (70-75% paved). My LBS is running a fathers day special.
Giant Cypress ST - $270.
Giant Cypress - $360.
Is it worth going for the suspension? I am not going to be a professional or anything like that lol. Just getting some much needed exercise

You don't need a suspension. I already do all of that with a Giant Escape1.
You should check out the Escape2, it is around $350-$400.

I would go for the ST. The suspension fork that comes on the Cypress is not all that great. My wife used to have a Sedona with the same suspension fork that comes on the cypress. When pedaling with power, like to get through a busy intersection, some of the pedaling energy was lost by fork bounce. My daughter now rides the Sedona, and my wife moved on to a bike with a rigid fork.

The ST is made of 4130 chromoly steel. All the other Cypress models are made of aluminum.
Ten years from now, which would you rather own? Which would be easier to upgrade at that time?
The suspension fork on the other Cypress models is of a lower quality than one might expect.
THE ST ROCKS!!!
