Today, to me, felt like the ideal recovery day. 35 minutes of easy conversational riding around the neighborhood with Mrs. Canvas, checking out a dead end road I've always been curious about, then some mellow yoga.

Two good days of wind and climbing in Orange County on a short family vacation. Really pleased that I was able to set a 15s season high. Was going to do a recovery day, but the TSB is only at -9 and I'm feeling good.

On a related note, I recently learned that alcohol inhibits glycogen storage, protein synthesis and hydration, and lowers testosterone. It might even be worse than ultimate frisbee!

Overcooked a ZCI™ workout today, failing on number 5. Great workout up to that point.

You called it recovery. It wasn't. I pointed that out to you. You shot back with justification for your actions, not acknowledgement of your error. You strike me as someone who isn't going to listen because you know what you want and you're going to do it anyway. Now why would I want to help you?
I will anyway. Recovery rides should be less than one hour. If you are on a recovery day and your commute is 20 miles you don't commute. TSS should be 25 or less. If terrain makes that tough then shorten the ride to hit the target. The biggest thing to remember is that recovery means rest. You have the green light to be a lazy ass. Take advantage of it.

This is why I won't do Paleo. According to that philosophy, grains are bad; beer is made from grains, so it follows that beer must be bad. No beer = a bridge too far, at least for this Irish-American. Gotta maintain some quality of life!

Team Recovery Ride. Was third wheel back when the guy in front of me swerved out of the way, exposing a 2' x 2' sinkhole directly in front of me. I got around it, but was pretty pissed. I couldn't see the bottom of that hole and my front wheel almost went in it. I normally don't expect people to call out debris, but that was a real hazard. 35 tss.
My hamstring locked up the other day, now I have a massive hematoma. It feels okay, so I'm not overly concerned.

I'm REALLY TIRED of doing intervals in 40 degree weather, but that's what I'll be doing this evening. Sigh. It's the end of April, it should be around 70 degrees by now! Anyway. Some brutal pyramids planned. Being a coach must require a certain degree of sadism. Of course, I keep doing what he tells me to.

Actually did a structured interval workout for he first time in a long time the other day. 3x10 at FTP. Felt pretty good. Might have to do more of this
