I would like to convert my bike in electric assisted not using any conversion kit and with limited knowledge about electricity. Goal is to make bike for uphill assistance to make uphills painless.
Since im unsure i would appreciate opinions.
plan is to buy:
-front wheel 250W 24V hub engine
-2x 12v, 12Ah lead-acid batteries (made for motorcycles)
-rear wheel rack (as batteries holder)
-some kind of thumb throttle controller
-car battery charger
mount hub motor on front wheel, mount rack, fasten batteries on, connect them in series, do the wiring and in theory it should work.

since i never drove e-bike before i wanna know if this hub motor makes any resistance to free wheel spin when not powered and how hard is to pedal against that.

If it's a geared hub motor then you will not feel any resistance while paddling. but if it is a gearless motor then you will feel it.

Q100 (cute) is fine and cheap. Bafang makes a similar 24v 250w motor that would work too. either would be good for you.

When you say "batteries for motorcycle" if you really mean common motorcycle batteries that is a very poor chose in batteries because they arre nothing more then miniture car batteries. This type of battery does not like to be constantly drained of power. It is designed for a single high amp. load (starting) then allowed to recharge. You need a battery that allows for deeper cycle.. Sorry but I am not at home so I can't look at my old lead batteries to give you a recommendation.
