Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hey guys i have a 2013 caad10 105 road bike looking to upgrade. Should i start with good pro set of wheels or components? I do alot of racing, competing, uphill, and flat. Will be competing very soon. I want my caad10 to meet its standards with other pro level bikes

Start with Zipp 303's, then upgrade the group to Ultegra Di2.

Find the biggest hill in your area. Ride up and down it repeatedly til you puke. Next day ride 60 easy miles. Then do the hill again. On weekends ride with the local club's fast group. Do this for a few months. Enter a race. Report back.

Engine first. When you are losing by mere seconds with a finely tuned engine then maybe it's the bike. Until then, it's you.

well, he said he does 'a lot of racing'. Maybe he means that he treats everything as a race... everything.

OP is confused. And by putting the cart before the horse, racing will more difficult.

If you are really serious, get a power meter and a good book on how to train with one.

Your bike is not holding you back.

1 minute wonder

Maybe OP should just get a new bike....

But I support new wheels and carbon seatpost/stem/bars. Then mechanical DA all round and a carbon frame.
