I saw this on facebook earlier... that cyclist is one seriously forgiving person, no way I would be that nice about it.

From the explanation on the video, it sounded like he was riding on the sidewalk before he entered the intersection.

I wonder what goes on in the heads of people like the driver. Is it "Gee, if I leave now, I can get away with it" or simply "I don't giver a dam, I have someplace to get to and tough on anyone else"

I don't know what would be an appropriate sentence for this, but if I were a judge, it would certainly involve 2 elements besides any fine.

1- some kind of suspension or heavy restriction on the driving license, so there would be a serious inconvenience.
2- an open court allocution, where the driver must explain to the judge, victim and public what exactly she was thinking.

Maybe a third element, having to spend time standing in a busy public place - maybe the shopping mall, maybe in front of the school, holding up a sign saying "I am an obnoxious sh-thead. I hit someone with my car, and my only thought was to push him out of the way so I could get on with my day".

Also in the Atlanta area, they finally have identified the driver who chased and ran down the cyclist last month, they already arrested the guys girlfriend for covering for him.

I used to wonder the same thing. Then I realized that some people don't actually have thoughts. That solved a lot of puzzles for me.

Well considering that their heads are up their A**ES, I'd suspect that they are full of $**T.

What do you guys think about cyclists who get hit while they are on the sidewalk or pedestrian crosswalk? Do they share the blame?
