I saw this on facebook earlier... that cyclist is one seriously forgiving person, no way I would be that nice about it.

From the explanation on the video, it sounded like he was riding on the sidewalk before he entered the intersection.

I wonder what goes on in the heads of people like the driver. Is it "Gee, if I leave now, I can get away with it" or simply "I don't giver a dam, I have someplace to get to and tough on anyone else"
I don't know what would be an appropriate sentence for this, but if I were a judge, it would certainly involve 2 elements besides any fine.
1- some kind of suspension or heavy restriction on the driving license, so there would be a serious inconvenience.
2- an open court allocution, where the driver must explain to the judge, victim and public what exactly she was thinking.
Maybe a third element, having to spend time standing in a busy public place - maybe the shopping mall, maybe in front of the school, holding up a sign saying "I am an obnoxious sh-thead. I hit someone with my car, and my only thought was to push him out of the way so I could get on with my day".

What do you guys think about cyclists who get hit while they are on the sidewalk or pedestrian crosswalk? Do they share the blame?
