Drops to Bullhorns Recommendations?
My Kilo TT still has the stock drops. I am always on top of the bars, so why not switch to bullhorns and save some weight? What bars should I consider?

I feel like bullhorns, outside of the Cinelli Mash variety (and the relatively pricey Nittos above) are pretty much dime-a-dozen. I've had good luck with Trans-X and Fyxation Rodeo bars.

Well, everyone is different, but my choice is the Nitto RB-002, which I have on two different bikes and have put lots of comfortable miles on them. I'm a small guy, and really like them because they are narrow and short reach. They taper inward at the front, which makes them almost feel like tt bars.

The Nitto RB-010 look so good to me, although I've never ridden on them. I like my fyxation rodeo (but I'm upgrading to the 3t ergonova pro for what it's worth).

Currently using these, although I did NOT pay that price. About half actually.

Should note the RB-010 has a 25.4 clamp diameter, so it will have to be shimmed on your stock Kilo. My Kilo, the commuter/grocery-getter, has RB-018 bullhorns with long Origin-8 grips cut about an inch from the stem. Very satisfied. The RB-018 are plenty cheaper too.

Word of caution, if you think you may favor a wider handlebar, bullhorns in wider widths can be harder to find. This is what ultimately led me to switch from horns to drops. No ragrets.

i am not an expert, but you need to decide where would you put your brake levers. For me the most stable position is bar-end brakes. cane creek 200 tt levers. My point is if you decide on bar end brake levers you need bullhorns that support internal cable routing. i have syntace stratos. You should also consider a drop. some have very low drop, more aggressive riding position. As far as i looked nitto are excellent bullhorns but do not have internal cable routing.

You could always try the Fyxation's first to see if you like it.
Bikewagon has them for $10 in 3 different colors. They're 25.4 so you may need a shim.

Switching from drops to bullhorns, Steve?
I guess randonneuring is not in your near future?
That's a shame.

Switched to bullhorns a long time ago and never looked back. For city riding they are unbeatable, especially if you use bar end lever. Hand position like on the hoods, braking power like in the drops. I used the nitto rb-021 and recently switched to deda crononero low rider bars. The deda are a bit wider and a bit shorter, the bar also has internal routing. When I used the nitto, I drilled them for internal routing, it was fine. Also I found I had to get a really short stem , 60mm , when using the nitto bars as they were pretty long, and I like to ride close to the ends.
