Lever question (time trial to dropbar-end)

Lever question (time trial to dropbar-end)
Hi!
I got a new fixed gear with really good track geo, so i dont want to crash, i dont know when the clips/chain/rear hub/cog dies, so i decided to put a front break to that. I can skid pretty well, but i'm afraid of any mechanical problem, and i dont want to go down the hill or in a road juction just because of that, and crash myself or the bike. What do you think? Is the front brake even needed, or it's just me afraid of that? The frame didnt need drilling, there is a hole for the front brake.
I often use the drop on the bar, especially on high speed (i ride 52-15 gear) so i decided to put a time trial bar-end lever to the bar. I know, that looks a little bit funny, but what do you think? I've never seen anybody using lever like this.

Brakes are smart. Your setup is a little odd, but not unheard of. Personally, I would have gone for road levers with hoods, but if it works for you, ride on.
edit- Also, it's a little odd that your frame has shifter bosses and cable guides. Maybe an old-school time trial frame, or were the dropouts replaced with track ends?

I have a friend who did the same set up on his fixed gear except he put on some JA behind the fork aero brake and it is silly. He's got like 4-5 road bikes with standard drop bar brake levers so I didn't understand when he did that but he is an odd chap.

I had a TT brake lever on a bullhorn bar some time ago. Didn't like it one bit.
I spent the last few minutes trying to imagine using that set up in situations I have been in. I can only feel it being terribly awkward
