Phil Wood Front Track Hub Bolt

Does any one have any idea on if the screw can be changed on a Phil Wood Track Hub. Ordered one and love it but my idea is to put pinhead solid axle nut locks on them and not sure if it's possible. Thanks for the help.

Nuts fit on externally threaded axles, and bolts (machine screws) fit on internally threaded axles, such as used on Phil Wood track hubs. So, no, you cannot use any kind of nuts on those hubs, but perhaps you can find tamper-proof bolts that will fit.

I use these on my Phil hubs, cut down to the correct length. All you really need is one per hub.

It seems to me that those bolts work fine with a seatpost collar, where the bolt head is recessed into the collar. However, if used on a hub, the bolt head is exposed, and can be gripped with a channel lock plier to permit removal. Something with a rounded head that cannot be gripped is needed here.

It's still a deterrent. Not everyone is carrying around Channel Lock pliers or vice grips.

Not sure what it's like in the OP's city but here in San Diego, if a tweaker wants your **** bad enough they're going to get it regardless. Someone I know recently had their fork blades cut with a hacksaw because they were using the bolts I linked to, in broad daylight on a busy sidewalk. It's brutal. Even with multiple locks, I never even leave my bike out of sight.
