Skid tricks baby!

I know it's been discussed before, but I thought I'd bring it up again after seeing the MASH video at the BFF. Some of those guys were doing some crazy stuff, like switchfoot skidding and i think i saw some dude skid with one leg and his whole body on the same side? insanity! Meanwhile, I'm still trying to learn one-leg-over-the-bar skids. Do you lift your leg up and over the bar without taking your hands off or is it easier to swing your leg from the side and let your hand go for a second for your leg to go under? Also, what other crazy tricks have you seen? i'm anxious to hear the messed up ways you guys play with bikes.

ps. pics and videos would be nice too

I take a hand off the bars when I swing my leg over for the leg-over-bar-skid.

Ask 46x17 about trick skids, that guy can do em all.

46x17 working his magic:

yah, the switch foot action in the first trick... how the **** do you get your foot through the frame and on to a moving crank? obviously some of this stuff has to be done at low speeds. my best skid trick right now is merely to take one foot off. i'd like to do some no hand action next. speaking of, i've seen a video of some cat skidding down the street no hands, lighting up a ciggy. crazy.

thanks to judah, clayton, alex and that mash video, i've learned the one leg over the bar, no hands and the 'all on side side of the bike' skids. next is that 'threading the needle' leg through the frame skid

everyone knows you need a full NJS certified bike to do this stuff.

pistas won't work.

i learned skidding and then no handed. no handed is easy, if you're far enough forward, thighs locking the bar, just try taking your non dominant hand off, and then the other. easy peasy.

the over the bar trick, your left hand comes off, your leg goes up, your hand goes back on the bar. then as your right crank goes from 12 to 3, you push your self forward as you push your cranks down and back into the locked position. the key is doing it in one nice fluid move. then just reverse it. Judah and another friend of mine get their leg up and over the bar without letting go of the bars with their left hand. i pulled something when i did that

Thanks for the tips - sounds like something to learn while wearing padding (I am tall so have further to fall).

Now I have two things to learn - funky skids and backwards circles

watching fixie tricks after having a little bmx experience is a little being a skater and watching people do "grinds" on rollerblades.
