bibs for girls are like sweaters for dogs.
maybe some people think it's cute, but i personally think they're a pain in the... bathroom situation.
just not the most efficient.
some wear bibs because they don't like the elastic band of shorts cinching their waist.

Whenever I see bibs I can't help but think of the guy I saw downtown one day sitting (posing?) on his bike wearing nothing but bibs with his big round belly hanging out the nice round shape accentuating the beer gut. That **** is just wrong! Worse than chaps and thongs. I wanted to walk up to him and say "Put some clothes on man! Or ride somewhere so the rest of us don't have to look at you and your ridiculous getup." but I didn't want t get too close for fear the smarm might rub off. Not that I ever thought they looked great, but I will never be able to look at bibs in the same way again.

Now don't get me wrong. I think men and women with bellies should feel free to go shirtless when the weather is hot, but with bibs? That was just too much.

I don't wear undies period, let alone with bike shorts (which I wear almost every day).

Commando is the way to go. I need to try that chamois cream. Does it make your junks smell strange?

For me,
Long rides: lycra only or lycra under my Sit 'N' Spins (or cargo pants).
Short rides/commute: underware, er, I mean underwear under regular pants.

Yeah, that's what the guy I work with said.

What I hate is the elastic cinch at the bottom of most jerseys.
Anyone got any recommendations of some that don't.

you're saying that your junk doesn't already smell strange, especially after an hour in the saddle?

Generally, after a ride, I shower. I've never actually done a scratch and sniff.

There's just so many ways that I could answer this wrong..

Shower, dry, powder.

The way it works.

I do not wear underwear underneathe my PI's, but I usually only wear them to the track or if I'm going 10+ miles. I have no "mess" to worry about, I have no clue what they are talking about. But I don't have to deal with any awkward changing situations or anything like that, so maybe that's just it... ?

Edit: I also use the chamois butt'r. That **** is ****ing awesome.

I have two pair of decent cycling shorts that I do like quite a bit, but hardly ever wear. I tend to ride a lot around town doing errands and also to/from work. There's a lot of walking and such involved, and I have found that wearing a pair of bike shorts all day when you're spending as much time walking as riding means a nice rosy, chafed ass. Also, I challenge any of you to tell me that it's a good idea to wear bike shorts to ride to a job where you can't really change and so would end up working in a 105 degree kitchen for 9 hours solid with slimy chamois all up in your sh*t. Did it once.....never again.

BUT, when I do wear the bike shorts, absolutely no underwear under them ever.

My default is just microfiber briefs/shorts/whatever under whichever pants or shants I happen to be wearing that day. Soft, supportive, keeps the rump dry, and unreasonably comfortable.

i'd think they'd get irritating in the boob situation after a while--that's assuming that if i were a woman, i ended up with any sort of boob situation to irritate.

this thread is begining to make me question the practicality of clothing.

A few months ago I turned up to a race (road) with some undies on...my team made me go back to the car and change...
I've since seen the error of my ways and am now a true commando convert.

And I gotta add, there's nothing quite like pulling off your sweaty lycra and feeling the cool air on your junk...makes the race all worthwhile. Word

When on tour and riding in bike shorts all day, everything feels comfortable. No need for underwear.
But, I do find. You stay in bike shorts for like 11 hours after say a 8 hour ride.
Well, without the effects of cycling, seems the pad retains moisture and gets a tad warmish feeling a couple hours after you stop cycling. Can't see bike shorts used as underwear for this reason.

Does anyone make a low-cut cycling shorts. I really want to show my plumbers crack off to everyone behind me. Seriously.
